The Impact Award
Pursue FRC's most prestigious award.
The FIRST Impact Award (formerly the Chairman's Award) is the highest honor in the FIRST Robotics Competition, given to the team that best embodies FIRST's mission and serves as a role model for other teams. This branch teaches you how the award is structured, judged, and won, and how to build a sustainable outreach program behind a winning submission. You will learn to write the 12 executive summaries (plus the optional judge-feedback question) and the 10,000-character essay, prepare the in-person presentation and judge Q&A, produce the optional 3-minute video, and navigate eligibility and advancement to the FIRST Championship Hall of Fame.

The learning path
Modules & lessons
Before you write a single line of an Impact Award submission, you need the writing fundamentals that make judges care. This primer teaches you how to structure a story, write with clarity, and prove your claims with evidence, then connects each skill to the real constraints of the FIRST Impact Award (a 10,000-character essay, 500-character executive-summary answers, and an optional video). Start here, then move on to the department's main lessons.
