Gear ratio is the number you get wrong once and remember forever. Too fast and your drivetrain browns out and trips breakers pushing against a defender; too slow and your cycles crawl while everyone else scores. The same arithmetic decides whether an arm can hold its own weight and whether a shooter recovers between shots — which is why you run it before cutting metal.
